Did Google search and this is what it told me.

Average EV battery uses 30 # of cobalt.

Recycled EV battery saves 20 # of the 30 # originally used.  So the second time around you need to add 10 # of new cobalt.  Third time another 10 #.  Forth time it will be all new cobalt.  So you get 3 batteries before you use all new cobalt.  If I add it up it is 30 + 10 + 10 = 50 # cobalt used for 3 batteries.

3 cars at 200,000 per car equals a total of 600,000 miles.

Goggle also said that 1 pound of cobalt is needed to refine 80,000 gallons of fuel.  50 # of cobalt X 80,000 = 4,000,000 gallons.

How far will 4,000,000 gallons take a ICE vehicle that gets say 25 mpg.  4,000,000 X 25 = 100,000,000 miles

100,000,000 miles / 200,000 miles per vehicle = 500 vehicles.

Hmmm.   Looks like I can use 50 # of cobalt to drive 3 EV for 200,000 each   OR   use 50 # cobalt to drive 500 ICE for 200,000 each.

Is this right ?
