Depends on couple of things, your budget, haw much pasture you have and how quickly you want to finish them, along with what products/feed stuffs you have available.

Cheapest might be pasture, fastest all grain. Happy medium is something that you have to figure out. I feed all grain, roughly 2% of body weight, fed twice a day. Looking to finish in 15 months. At your weight, a 16% protein ration could be a good starting ration, droping down at around 900-1,000#, to lower protein ration.

You can put in stuff like 'Orchard Grass fresh bloom' (my pastures right now), to dry hay, corn, beet plup, etc. And it will calculate a ration for you. Based on your target rate of gain, animal type, starting/finishing weight.
