East of Broken Bow | The area I am familiar with, which is around Broken Bow, center a little ways East, we went from the driest 12 months since the 1800s (yes, drier than the 1930s) to getting from 3-9 inches of rain in about a week's time. I'd put crops on average about half planted, no one turned a wheel since a week ago Thursday, and it is drizzling outside right now. It will be several days before planting can start again, and a good week or 10 days for most people to finish. I only know one guy all done, and he only has 2 days worth of planting total.
We are far from a disaster, and the moisture is doing far more good than harm, but around here, I just don't see top yields. | |
