When I started 20 years ago our records were a disaster!! Several books, hand drawn maps.
10 years ago I started in with a cemetery management software called Pontem. It was about 5k to get started but It works awesome!
I drew new maps in a paint app and then combined the info from the books to a very easy to use accurate data base. All of our newer (50 yrs or newer) have a lot marker number system. These are either granite or metal stakes with numbers on them.
