I’ve done more 30” bean plots than 15” for myself. Personally, I’d take the 1/2 rate sprockets out and run full rate on the 16 rear rows and do 8 and 8 of 20’ wide plot. I like the 30’s so you have room to walk the plot and do plant type and disease ID observations easier without walking over anything on accident.


Aren't you collecting data that may not be relevant if the majority of your acres are narrow rows?

A variety that performs better in wide rows could win the plot but lose in your normal conditions.
