De Forest, WI

SamT - 5/13/2023 09:50 Ain’t that the truth. About once a month I get to the house and pickup pops up “cleaning exhaust continue driving”. I set the cruise on 45 and go drive by a farm I have a ways off. when I get back close it clears out. That’s a 40 mile round trip of wasted time and fuel. If you don’t do it though, you’ll be in for an overnight stay at the dealer that costs $500 and a tank of fuel last time I had it done, but that’s been a long time since I bowed down and just “continue driving”

If you are getting constant regen requests then your are short tripping your diesel too often.  If your drives are normally 30-40 miles I would just ignore the regen messages.  The regen will happen the next 30-40 mile trip.  If those trips are mostly highway and not city the vehicle should passively re-gen on it's own with no extra fuel used.  Running around town and short tripping a diesel is what causes the DPF to get loaded with soot.
