Most of that is plastic and caused by city dwellers, not farmers.

You don't use plastic? You don't buy anything in plastic containers or plastic bags?? I know that you do, so what do you do with it? Ours goes into recycling, and so does most of the "urban" plastic- they pay for the recycling fee every month.
There's always plastic bottles, plastic bags, garbage bags, beer cans, pop cans, 5 gallon pails, quart oil jugs, feed sacks, etc, in our ditches around here. But we live on a gravel road, nearest small town is 5 miles away, nearest towns of over 300 people are over 10 miles away.
Oh, I know, those lazy urban slobs are coming out in the country to throw their trash in the ditch, right?
Some here just love to blame urban people for everything, but they are just as guilty, or more so. I've followed farmers' pickups driving down the road and seen junk blow out of the box, too.
So knock it off. You're just as guilty as those filthy "city dwellers". Sure, there are some urban slobs, but so are some out here in the country.
It gets old.
