NW Indiana
Thanks. Looks to me like planting pace and final yield is still a guess. Crop is off to a great start but with driving around seeing normal wet areas that are dry it just got me thinking back to the overall weather. End of January we were still extremely dry but went about 6 weeks with a good amount of rain and no frost that got the tile running again. But other than that 6 weeks we have had a really dry past 11 months. I had just heard on the radio about how April was exceptionally dry in IL as a whole resulting in the fast planting pace. Made me think of the drought monitor last fall and how we are likely still seeing the impacts of that. Just has me wondering have we really changed the dry pattern yet?
