nc ks | That is part of my point. Farm subsidies basicallly make a farmer a surf to those with outside money or make them a surf to the bank. Even the large farmer is just treading water with the subsidies basically when you figure in the rise in cost of production or the cost of expansion. I'm not complaining about being a farmer at all. It is great when the market gives you what it has the last 15 years. But if they/them want to skewer the farmer over the subsidies, she/he are blaming the wrong people. No one really wants to talk about the subsidized k-12 all the people 'who don't get subsidies' use. Add to that a junior college and it gets real for the farmer quickly. But those people didn't have to bend their hat bill to get the subsidy check out of the mailbox so it didn't happen. 2/3 of the kids get free meals while their family has a camper and boat and 2 side by sides. That is both city kids and farmer kids.
