If it's been dry for 3 years and 10k land would have only brought 5k because nobody had the assurance of being able to make anything and there was no crop insurance to let you try again, but then you magically change the world with subsidized crop insurance and the city heirs get a million for their 100 acres of land instead of 500k, who got the subsidy....for real. Not to mention that the estate was getting twice the cash rent for many years in the magic world of subsidised crop insurance.

Were there some farmers that owned their own land that benefitted as well. You bet, but not on the ground he cash rents, and then when he bought a piece he rented it cost him 5k an acre. How much was his subsidy? What about the farmer that can't buy the land because some outside investor buys it because he can be guaranteed a minimum amount of return that is acceptable because he or his farmer tenant has subsidized crop insurance. Who is benefitting from the subsidy more? The city residing heirs? The outside investor? The tenant farmer?

These liberal dopes try to play gotcha with farm subsidies but they clearly are ignorant.
