Subject: RE: ND rain

North west MN
A good friend of mine said corn is the crop that keeps on giving after a late planting and harvest year.
That year he froze up his seives on his combine many times.
Harvested upper 20 percent corn ballooned roofs on bins when the vents froze.
Tried to take corn out of the bin and it had frozen and wouldn't come out. Then the corn heated up on south side of bin and molded.
He left the rest of his corn to worry about and harvest till the next spring.
Harvested the rest of the corn in late may it was dry and test weight came up but seeded those fields to beans in june and those beans yielded 15 bushels less than beans on wheat ground. Then he had to fix the bins and haul out moldy corn some had to be cut open and dug out black corn with a backhoe and dumped out in a field.
So then came the phrase corn the crop that keeps on giving.
