it is not just the $$ cost for the equipment.
Dealers are short on mechanic help. Who gets the tech?.
The tech shortage is real and many older mechanics just don't want to go back to school to learn all the computer stuff.
Like all skilled trades it seems kids are moving away from that....and if you are going into skilled trades a good electrician, hvac,ect. person can make 2x what traco dealerships pay.
New ownership at local dealer and service manager left, whole parts staff left . Idk whole story but losing guys with 20+ yrs. experience and everybody liked doesn't build confidence...A good employee needs to be paid and treated well.
