| I ended up going with a HPCR engine from a Florida rebuilder. It ended up being a little interesting since the label on the engine said ISL (8.9L hpcr) but cummins quickserve called it an 8.3. I finally talked to the owner of the shop and he showed me that my quickserve information actually showed the engine as a C8.3 which would be a mechanical injection motor. He said that the blocks for the 8.3 and 8.9 engines are the same and the cummins rebuild shop in Mexico just grabs any block (out of a pile of 100's) and builds it to the spec they need (and puts on the appropriate label). I was concerned for a while but I think I'm all good.
