| I don’t think it is legal anymore but at one time I believe phones could be “locked” to certain carriers. In those situations the phone would work with a new SIM card from the same carrier but using a SIM card from a different carrier required the original owner’s info to “unlock” the phone from the original carrier. That scenario would describe your situation and may be the case. | |
