You will never "block" an email.  Emails are sent by somebody and your email provider (gmail, hotmail, ISP, etc) or client (Outlook, mail) have to decide how to handle that message.  Most providers have some sort of filtering service and I'm assuming clients do to.  You best option is to try and unsubscribe from as any you can and also configure your spam filters to handle the rest.  If its so bad you don't want to do that open a new account with an online provider such as gMail or Outlook and start over, which has its own set of challenges.
