If you can’t get fresh curds which are the best. You can take a bag of curds and put the whole bag in hot water until they are soft. That will bring back some of the squeak. They won’t be as good as fresh but better then cold. 

The fresh curds are soft, salty and squeaky and you can easily eat to many.
