I’m my experience young chickens haves much higher rate of double yolks than old hens. It’s just a total guess but could it be that the culling of chickens due to avian flue caused enough of a shortage in the egg market that some of the younger flocks production are diverted to the whole egg consumer market? I’m not sure how that market works so maybe that’s not the case.
What are the odds?
