Do you have a scraper? Did you fill all your tracks? Do you run your pivot “dry” to pack the track? Wet tracks filled with corn stalks turn to gumbo/snot, may need to remove said gumbo/snot
All that works better than boombacks, in fact sprinklers up top work the best.
Hours in the tractor before the crop> tractor in growing crop.
We leased a pivot that has over head impact sprinkler heads and it’s amazing how much shallow the pivot tracks are and never gets stuck even pumping 1400 gpm. The first sprinklers we had in the early seventies were all overhead impact with high gpm and they never got stuck. We started using drops when the gpm started dropping and they started making deep tracks and getting stuck. Also, the evaporation was a lot less but they still got stuck more often |
