I agree with you completely.

On the other hand, some people are not able to do some things in moderation and still have a decent life. For example, high amounts of carbohydrates will raise my blood sugar and cause me to be very sick and subject to most modern non-infectious diseases. So moderation for me means very few in the case of carbohydrates. For an alcoholic moderation is probably not possible with alcohol.

If certain foods give people real problems, moderation of those foods might not be a good solution.

But as long as a person tollerates all foods just fine, I think you are right. It is when specific foods give them problems, maybe moderation is not so good..
