The correct way is to replace the 50 amp fuses with copper tubing. Put 2 pennies behind the 30 amp fuse and one penny behind the 20 amp.
I found this eliminated fuse problems on 90% of the farms in the 80's.
The remaining 10% took a jumper from the main to the appropriate wire.
The sad part is I saw a lot of places wired this way.
Folks didn't have money to wire correctly or fuses.
I always had problems with the second penny it would just jump
but make a small contact area and it would blow out the the threads
