| i am glad to hear that you are doing well. it is good to get away from big dosage of insulin.
my experience is with ckd, which many times goes hand and hand with diabetes. I've seen first hand with my own family.
faced with starting dialysis, which several in my family has had to do, ive seen lower mid teens gfr, with a modification in diet, such as
low protein, (approx .5 to .6 g of protein per kg of weight), and had issues with diabetes, and getting the insulin type and dosage figured out and
lower carb diet, we went back to a gfr of about 50 and the bun cut in half.
I'm still not a big high protein diet, make sure you check for protein in urine, be careful for gout, not a big fan of preventive gout medications, most
used is allopurionol, which usual not a problem, we are thinking it was the cause a granuloma on my liver.
here is wishing you continuing good health.......but you might consider giving away (or selling), the "donor cycle".
