Lancaster, Co. PA | I took tip of my middle finger off the same way about 7 years ago. I was fortunate that the bone was not damaged. I was referred to a mennonite woman locally who has a procedure for helping folks who suffer burn injuries. She uses a product called B&W ointment that is a natural product and promotes skin growth. It worked very well for me and apparently is very effective because I learned that there are several hospital burn units here in PA that refer people to her treatment. Which is unheard of around here for hospitals to even consider someone who has no official medical certification.
My experience was that the nerves in my fingertip were sensitive for several years even after it fully healed over but 7 years later I don't notice it much.
I will try to get you info on where to buy B&W ointment if you have interest. For what it's worth, here are 2 pictures of my finger. The first is 10-3-16, the day it happened, 2nd is 10-16-16. You can see significant improvement in 2 weeks time.
Edit: my wife is going to find me the link for where to order. My email is good if you have any questions that I can answer for you.
