I lost three on my right hand 40 years ago, I still have the thumb and pinky. Mine are off at the knuckle.
I am left handed so not my dominate hand but it is a right handed world.

it will take a couple of years to get to where you don’t think of it, you will have adapted to where you do things a little differently. The pain goes away, the sensitivity becomes less noticeable.  There will be times you will get mad because you can’t start a nut or reach something but you will figure out a way to work around it.

You will find that the other fingers will pick up the slack, my pinky is bigger and stronger then the one on the other hand.

Yes, just as Chuck WI said. Same here, only have the thumb and 1st finger and middle finger doesn't work. But since I only have 3 fingers on the right hand I use the 1st finger as my middle finger now. It took a couple years to start working good, still hurts and can't let it freeze. I got use to it, that was 18 years ago.
