If you consider Kidney Beans a vegetable, eating them raw or undercooked might be the last thing you ever eat.

Many plants have varying levels of lectins and/or oxalates that can be damaging or worse, some people are more sensative than others. Sometimes cooking reduces the amount ingested of certain ones, as it does with the above mentioned beans.

Lots of different ideas both pro and con about them. Vegans generally don't think they are a problem. Carnivores tend to think they are. They do give some people problems.
