Autoimmune diseases are a BIG problem. There are various ideas about why the current levels are so high among the population. Diet is one. Pesticides is another idea. Lifestyle another. Maybe all of the above, who knows? But it is definitely a problem on the rise.

Current dogma is that it is genetics. Yet genetics are unlikely to have changed in basically two or three generations. I like what several doctors say about genetics (and that certainly is a factor). Genetics can load the gun, but environment is what pulls the trigger. Don't pull the trigger and the genetics does not become a problem.
