Helped build a couple decades ago. They are still going strong. I do agree. You need to build them up from the ground at least 4’. These were cemented. (Yes using hand mixer)2’ above grade. I dumped hundreds (seemed like thousands) of mixer fulls. Two loader tractors. One sand, the other cement, then slide 6’ move tractors, cord, hose. … but wasted apace near walls. Wonderful to store corn first years. Should have put a under cement auger tube, 45 degree spout. But even 2’ on edges. Held a lot of corn.
