| My house is all electric and the electrician guessed 25kw to run everything. I bought a Dayton PTO generator that's 25kw with 50kw surge. The electrician wired a four prong plug into the panel with a plate that requires the main breaker to be shut off to throw the switch on for the generator. However, when I got the generator home, I discovered there was a four prong receptacle that was 13kw but the 25kw receptacle took a plug unique to the generator that used a welding cable for each lug. So, rather than rewire, I just use the 13kw and am careful about which appliances are running at the same time. | |
