Seneca Kansas 66538 | The IH planter is unique to planters like the Gleaner is unique to harvesters. That being said I personally would take the IH planter to the most difficult fields to plant into over the Tru-V simply because 3 things. They take less force to move forward (gauge wheel design…pulling instead of pushing) the opener design (staggered discs take less downforce to cut a seed trench) and the closing disc (take less power to operate than a pinching closing system.
Also with that said, on our farm we haven’t had an IH planter since the Cyclo but I still believe overall they are unique and the best design. Every jokey produces after market parts for Kinze, JD and White (all true V designs)
They truly are an Early Riser planter design. Seeds emerge a day sooner in most cases That I have seen planted side by side. | |
