I hear ya. I find that- for me - there is a sweet spot when it is time to go to sleep. If I stay awake past that time, I find it harder to get to sleep. It's about developing consistent sleep habits, and it sounds to me like you are trying to do that. I think drinking a glass of hot chocolate milk before bedtime helps me. I have seen ads on TV for brown noise. I think there is an app called CALM, which puts out this brown noise. I have heard of white noise, but this brown noise is new to me. The TV ad says if you have anxieties, have trouble sleeping, try this app called CALM. I have never tried it, don't know how it works. Maybe it is something to look into. Here's a link to CALM. I see there is Calm Radio as well. Again, I don't know much about it, other than what I see on the TV ads.
