You ought to try Bonaire. This is old world dining. Don't even think about going if you don't have a couple hours to spare.
You have to ask for the check to ever get it. Not like they are trying to get you to finish up and get out so they can seat more guests.
Only "fast food" on the island is a Kentucky Fried and Subway, and there is not much "fast" to either one of those either. A diffferent outlook on life and hurriedness.
That is the way it used to be at dinner time way back when we traveled a lot in Mexico. Thirty years ago now. The evening meal was more than just eating, it was an event.
