eastern sd | I am in the process of purchasing a quarter of land, in the process I have negotiated and settled a lien that was on the property but I haven't completed the purchase yet. I have to categorize the lien settlement expense before the end of the year but I'm not sure how to categorize it. I paid $100 down as "earnest money" when we drew up the purchase agreement so I have the property in my books and that $100 assigned to it at this point. Should I just do the lien settlement the same way I did the $100? | |
