What’s it going to hurt by reheating, adding the sugar, and then boiling again? I would try it because the fudge topping without any sugar probably won’t taste very good. I substitute butter for margarine (I NEVER use margarine) in my fudge recipe without any bad results. And I would do the five minute boil. In the future, if you want to make the VERY BEST fudge, this is a recipe I got from my aunt 30 years ago
