Might be some oddity in the feed, might be genetic. Hard to tell but it does seem to happen in spurts. Been several years since we had a problem but it was in straight black steers the last time we had a problem. Do you have a bunch of riding going on? If so and you band rather than knife cut, I’d be double checking that you didn’t miss a couple. Those one nutters cause problems in the pen. Just a thought
