Nebraska | Do you own the cattle or custom feed? The answer will determine how fast it pays for itself. Either way it has good ROI. Accurate recording of feed mixed and fed, especially split loads, will pay for it. Getting better batches fed data and a better handle on feed shrink pays.
Performance beef costs less than a load of corn right now and you can easily be off a 1000 bushel at the end of the year feeding 500 fats. That’d only be less than 5% overfeeding or errors in recording. And loading corn with a payloader its easy to drop in 10% too much!
ETA: I have not priced the setup recently, based my comparison off of what it was a year ago when we got started on it.
