Here, I'd use either our excavator with thumb to remove, stack and burn (or haul and burn). Dozer with root rake would be next option. I'm not familiar with plum thickets to say which would be better. Our thornapple and similar fence line brush/tree respond better to excavator vs dozer as you can leave more dirt in place.

If you'd have to rent something like that, I'd look at a forestry mulcher on a skid steer.

If $ is major concern, are they thick enough for you to burn? Sounds like the other areas that were burned are working OK.
