North Carolina | They look similar, but the connectors are different. The ethernet has two "ears" on top of the connector (HSA style connector) whereas the extended display harness has ears that are more of a "y" orientation. If you look at the corner post of a machine with Gen4 CommandCenter you'll see both types and the ear/guide orientation is a little different between the two.
Now, if you were to shave off the ears, who knows? It might work both ways.
