Subject: RE: Rotted post on machine shed

If I understand. You need to do slope away from shed. Cement floor? Dirt? You might need rain gutters, tileā€¦. I fail to understand how rotted post is causing rain to get in. (Without other issues, likely cause of post rot if others good)
If my understanding correct. Move water away from foundation. Then consider replacing, patching rotten post.
If dirt. I might cut post as far above grade as needed to find good wood. Dig out base, pull junk butt out. Dig area as needed, get new well treated post base in ground, into cut of old. Couple 2x6 treated, threaded rod to attach, few pole barn nails half pounded in new base to go in cement dumped in. Slope away from post.
