Rocky mountain juniper sounds like a marketing name for an eastern red cedar? but it will work a lot better than a white cedar/arbor vitae. White cedar is a northern swamp tree, not the best for you, unless you keep the ground sprayed clean of weeds, mulched and watered. You could try a local spruce, or see if your DNR or state conservation sells windbreak packages?
