Subject: Windbreak machinery, what kind of trees.

Kansas
I would like to plant a simple windbreak. Eastern red cedars is the tree off choice in Kansas. I don’t like them because of the repopulation issues and bag worms.

What would be a different kind of tree?

It’s for a farmstead windbreak and privacy beings the farmstead is close to the road.

I’m thinking a single row of trees. We have several single row cedar windbreaks that work well. I think a tree in a single row has more moisture available to it.
