East Troy, WI | There are thousand good reasons to pick corn early..... capture premiums, easier to dry when the Air temps are 80° and low humidity, feeding your livestock, getting the crops out in time to get the next crop in, avoiding field losses
the only two reasons I am sure not to pick corn early are preserving dry matter or retaining quality.
if you have a situation where you can make more money early, by all means it's a free country. your math appears to work out good in that situation.
