Subject: RE: Trimble FMX in Gleaner?

Illinois Heartland
I had Ag Leader followed by Trimble FM 1000, then Precision Planting Yield Sense for yield monitors in our Case 2588.

AL was by far my favorite, but when we couldn’t get RTK anymore, switched to Trimble. I fought with them and our dealer for 2 years to get the Yield part to work.

Ended up being a bad Trimble interface module from the factory, then Trimble didn’t want to take care of it under warranty even though our authorized Trimble dealer installed it. Terrible support and was still wonky even when it was working. After that, our Trimble dealer wouldn’t sell or install anymore Trimble yield systems.

Discovered after we bought the PP for our planter that you could switch it to Yield Sense in the combine. Use the Trimble for steering and providing a gps signal to the PP. The PP is simple to use and very reliable. I use an iPad with it running FieldViewCab to keep track of the yields with the corresponding varieties on the fly.
