Byron, I have a Brother and an Epson.  I really like the Epson a lot better than the Brother.  Mainly because it has larger ink capacity and you can refill the ink from bottles rather than cartridges.  The newer version of what I have is an Epson EcoTank ET-3850.  Seems like I'm replacing the ink cartridges on the Brother fairly often but the Epson has fairly large reservoirs for ink and doesn't have to be filled very often---plus the ink is cheaper that way.
