Health care providers and hospitals are by far the biggest criminals in the USA. In todays times that is really saying something. Unless you are on the government system. Then they will tend to you and give you anything you need.

60 years ago the local doc worked on everything from your toenails to your eyebrows, now these so called specialist pick a part and try to be good at it , if not they send you on to another so called specialist, no wonder health care is so expensive. Did I mentioned the local doc delivered babies too?

I do not know if that is accurate. 60 years ago I was just a baby so I can to say what it was like but I doubt that the local GP did transplants, joint replacements and the like. Just like most mechanics can work on MOST of your car, replacing a starter, alternator, fixing things from bumper to bumper, most don't do engine or transmission rebuilds, body work or interiors. You usually take your car to a specialist for those things. Todays GP (at least mine), like the local mechanic still fixes what is broken when I have an injury or illness (and he does surgeries) but I'm pretty sure that he "farms out " transplants and joint replacements and the like to a specialist. I do not think that GP's do anything different that years ago but I do think that there could be more specialists since medicine ahas progressed substantially in the last 60 year and can DO more things that require a specialist than they could 60 years ago. I am NOT presenting any of this as "fact" just an opinion based solely on supposition. I really don't "know" how General practitioners compare today to 60 years ago.
