Have my yearly checkup in about a week. Got a letter, from the office today. Said, my apt. was a " Preventive Visit, an annual exam to prevent or detect health problems ". It also said " If, during your apt, you discuss and are treated for a new or existing condition that requires action to treat, " you will be
charged for a second office visit.
Has anybody else run into this ?

Seems to be the new normal. My doctor posted a similar sign in the exam rooms recently.

At my last visit, he recommended a colonoscopy. Told him I would shop around to find the best deal for me. I called around and found prices ranged from $1200 to $4000. The cheapest was not real convenient, so I opted for a hospital that would do it for $1600, but they needed a referral from my doc. I called my doctor and the receptionist said I would have to come in for another visit ($100) to get the referral. I explained that my doctor had already discussed, but she would not budge. I will just wait until my next visit.
