I think some people need their “downpour” meter recalibrated.  

It’s not a downpour until you have the windshield wipers on high and have to slow down because you can’t see because they’re not keeping up.    When you have to have the wipers “on” it’s a nice rain.  If the wipers are on “delay”, it is no more than a light rain.  

To some people anything above a sprinkle gets called a downpour.
