I guess it depends on how many semis it takes to keep the combine rolling. For dad it takes one. Cart and combine fill me and he seldom has to wait for me to make the turn.

We try to run one combine, two carts, and 3-5 trucks. The carts only need to be big enough to haul one round away from the combine. With a 12 row head on half mile rows of 250 bushel corn, that’s about 850 bushels.
