S.C. Wisconsin | In our area about 99% of the roads are blacktop. Years back the density of farms were quite high helping with a better tax base. But now the farms have consolidated and the old farmsteads are not abandoned but usually are sold to people who have jobs on the area. When we tour the back roads with our UTV I am amazed by how well these farmsteads are kept up with nice houses and out buildings. A lot of those old farmsteads now have new houses built on them. This sure helps with the tax base to keep up the infrastructure. | |
