Yes, usually with our ground soil type is tied to elevation which is very close to yield maps. I go down to 15k routinely on almost every field we farm.

Example is Zone 1 yield goal of 200bu. 200/7 is 28.5k plants.

Zone 2 is 125bu yield goal. 125/7 is 18k plants.

Depending on the day, mood, field, zone, etc I’ll use 6-7bu per 1k seeds as my rate. Longer season corn should be more towards 7 or higher.
