Up as high as possible for the best possible signal and as far forward as possible for the best possible control system performance.
Every manufacturer has decided that up as high as possible is more important than as far forward as possible. You can program a control system to compensate for not being all the way forward. You can’t program an antenna to pick up a blocked signal.
