central Ia | We did a motorcycle trip to Bar Harbor about 8 yrs ago, long ride for a 2 week vacation but to me the ride was worth it. Acadia and Bar Harbor was a great area. When we left we rode west through the White and Green Mountains, really liked looking at all the farmsteads with the house and barn attached, rode to Lake Champlain took the ferry across from Burlington to Port Kent, then to Lake Placid and all the Olympic areas, the Adirondacks is an area we want to go back to. Took Hiway 6 across Pa for the most part. We rode Hiway 1 in Maine along the coast. Go to the local Lobster shacks to eat, the motel owners told which one to eat at and for the two of us to order a big lobster and share it. The crab cakes are even better found a small ice cream place on Desert Island that had the best crab cake. Take a boat ride, watch the sun come up or go down on Cadilac Mountian. | |
